This most important product of metallurgy is used in many areas of our lives, from construction, streets arrangement to households in the form of kitchen utensils.
The first Russian craftsmen organizing foundry production worked at the Kaslinsky Metallurgical Plant created back in 1747, which can be considered the ancestor of cast -iron casting in Russia. Famous masters created not only ordinary cast -iron hatches, lattices and cast -iron boilers, but also true masterpieces of foundry art. The composition of the cast -iron alloy almost always includes silicon, which lowers the melting temperature and increases the liquid flow of the alloy. It is thanks to the high liquid – the fluidity of cast iron can be poured out the most diverse objects of complex configurations. When using modern firing technologies, cast iron is processed in such a way that it is not inferior to carbon steel in terms of properties, solid -fuel heating boilers, gas boilers, as well as liquid -fuel and solid fuel boilers that are used in many industrial enterprises are made from such material.
