The development of urban planning, taking into account the preservation of historical buildings

On May 13-16, a seminar of the main architects of the cities of the Center and North-West of Russia was held in Vologda-“Reconstruction of old and the construction of new facilities, preserving the historical environment”.

It is not surprising that the meeting of architects took place in one of the oldest cities in Russia. Vologda has always been famous for her hospitality and identity. But this time she had a strict exam. The main architects, representatives of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, the State Construction of the Russian Federation, the Union of Architects of Russia and the Central Research Institute of Urban Planning made a tour of the streets and squares of the city, its historical places. Many noted how Vologda was prettier. And the May sun, as if by order, joyfully illuminated the domes of the Sofia Cathedral. In addition to the exchange of experiences on the topic, the issues topical for the architectural public were discussed.

Say, for Kostroma, as well as for most Russian cities, one of the primary tasks today is the development and adoption of the master plan. In a city with an 850-year historical heritage of about 600 architectural and cultural monuments, and solving the problem of the removal of industrial enterprises from the central part of the city is not so simple. A certain work in this direction is carried out, as well as the improvement of the embankment of the Volga and Kostroma rivers in the area of the Ipatievsky monastery. In addition, as the head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning told us – the chief architect of Kostroma Valentin Golubev, the project of the Museum of Wooden Architecture is currently being developed, which should become one of the largest museums in Russia. For a historical building, all kinds of kitchen appliances will be needed, you may even need to buy a gas stove in Odessa. Unlikely, but maybe you will need it for your home.

Vologda is a little older than Kostroma, and for her the urban development of the historical part of the city sounds even more relevant. However, Vologda has its achievements. Thus, the vice president of the RAASN Vladimir Belousov said: “In Vologda, a way was found how to save the entire architectural appearance of the historical territory – brick houses are being built on the site of the old wooden ones, and then they“ put them on ”them into the former wooden“ mask ”. Not everyone agrees with this approach, believing that these are remakes, profanity, etc. D.
